Highlands Family Success Center hosting regional conference

The Highlands Family Success Center is partnering with 22 other centers, from eight counties in Northern New Jersey to sponsor the Northern Region Network of Family Success Centers Professional Conference on Monday, April 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Macopin Middle School.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The theme of this professional conference is “Forging Partnerships - Creating Successful Communities.” It will focus on strengthening families with the help of community partners and will honor those who have partnered with the HFSC to further these goals.
Honorees will include West Milford Township Director of Education Daniel Novak, West Milford Township School District, Macopin Middle School Principal Marc Citro, Mayor Bettina Bieri and the West Milford Township Council, Department of Children and Families Commissioner Allison Blake, Bravo Print and Mail, Highlander Deli and Grill, Jazz Trio of West Milford High School Music Department and 2017 Family Success Centers Northern Regional Conference Committee members.
The keynote speaker is Dennis C. Miller, a leadership coach who has advised hundreds of nonprofit organizations on how to unlock their true potential. He is a sought-after motivational speaker, retreat facilitator and strategic advisor.
Workshops will include:
Building Collaborative Communities in Times of Change, presented by Paul J. Casey, an experienced executive in the field of youth development and education.
Best Kept Secrets: Navigating the ResourceNet, presented by County ResourceNet Coordinators and Meadowlands Family Success Center Family Coordinator.
Igniting the Passion: Boosting Volunteer Engagement through Coaching, presented by Lynne Harwell Algrant, Bergen Volunteer Center Chief Executive Officer.
There will be speakers with expertise in various fields and also panels on the opioid crisis in New Jersey and on immigration.
