— March is Music and Arts in our Schools Month and there is plenty going on in West Milford to mark the occasion.

Superintendent of schools James McLaughlin said at the February 19th Board of Education meeting,

“Each year, West Milford celebrates Music and Arts in Our Schools Month, now approaching in March," said superintendent of schools James McLaughlin. "It goes without saying that music and art hold an extremely special place in the West Milford Schools and our district can be very proud of its long tradition of excellence in education.”

Kicking off the month-long celebration, was the high school's presentation of "The Drowsy Chaperone" last weekend. Coming up are:

Empty Bowls - Wednesday, March 12 - sponsored by the High School Art Department, come for a bowl of soup, purchase a hand-made ceramic bowl to take home. 5 p.m. at Macopin Middle School. Proceeds from the bowl sales benefit West Milford food banks.

St. Patrick's Day Parade - Saturday, March 16 - The high school band will perform in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Carnegie Hall - Sunday, March 17 - The high school choir will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York.

An Evening of Jazz - Wednesday, March 20 - Performed by the high school choral at West Milford High School 7:30 p.m.

Mirror Image - March 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. and March 23 at 2 p.m. - Macopin Middle School presents “Mirror Image.”

All District Arts Festival - March 27 - Band and choral performances and art show at the high school 6 p.m.
