Learn what the locals really thought about the American Revolution on Wednesday, April 30, as Todd Braisted presents "Voices From the American Revolution: Soldiers and Residents in Their Own Words."

This free program will be presented by Braisted at the Long Pond Ironworks Visitors Center, located on Passaic County Rt. 511 (Greenwood Lake Turnpike) in West Milford, at 8 p.m.

The program is based on Braisted’s original research. It tells the story of the local residents of Bergen and Passaic counties during the Revolution. New Jersey was divided by the conflict, with some individuals staunch Loyalists or Patriots, while others remained neutral.

The North Jersey Highlands Historical Society, a non-profit volunteer organization, is sponsoring the program.

Braisted is the author or co-author of five books on the American Revolution and numerous journal articles. He is the former president of the Bergen County Historical Society and the Brigade of the American Revolution.
