— Members of the West Milford Lions Club will be at the front of the AandP on Union Valley Road in West Milford on May 8, 9, and 10, from 10 a.m. until evening, to raise funds as part of the annual White Cane Day.

Funds donated by community members will be used to continue the club's projects, which include providing free amblyopia screening to local pre-school and kindergarten students; maintaining the club’s cabin at Camp Marcella, a camp for blind and visually impaired children; providing scholarships for graduating West Milford High School students; providing holiday food baskets for families in need; and sponsoring, along with the West Milford Nurses Division, a free Health and Wellness Fair on May 31 at Hillcrest Community Center.

“Money raised on White Cane Days will allow Lions to meet pressing needs in our community," said Lions Club president Mauro Macari. "Lions members thank everyone who contributes to this important work. You are a very important part of our fund raising efforts.”

The West Milford Lions Club has 21 members and meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Joey’s Vito and Michael's on Lakeside Drive. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
