Senior Dillon Forsythe and Senior John Tierney are the recipients of the Ben Jurgensen Memorial Scholarship.

Dillon was a former pitching pupil of Ben's and will attend Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck. John will attend Centenary College and play baseball, the same college that Ben attended and played.

The Ben Jurgensen Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 and named after Ben Jurgensen, a 2005 West Milford graduate and standout pitcher who died suddenly while a student athlete at Centenary College in the fall of 2008. To date, the scholarship has been given to numerous graduating senior baseball players over the last six years.

The scholarship is funded by local sponsors and the proceeds from the Ben Jurgensen Memorial Freshman Tournament which was hosted by West Milford for the 4th year this year.

"I couldn't be more proud to have this scholarship to be associated with our baseball program and players. Ben was such an important part of our program when he was here and it's such a great tribute to Ben and the Jurgensen Family to honor his memory with these scholarships"
