  • Noelle

There is a new dog available for adoption at The West Milford Animal Shelter who just happens to fit right in with the shelter's Christmas in July adoption event because her name is Noelle!

Noelle is a pretty dainty apricot lady. Her disposition is sweet and she loves to socialize. She will steal your heart the minute she trusts you enough to pick her up. She is new to shelter living and still a bit unsure. As you hold Noelle, you will notice that her paw will cling to your arm and she will nuzzle into your arms and instinctively look to find a place to tuck her head in under your chin. She is content to be with you no matter what you are doing. If you are busy, she loves to lay in her bed and watch everything going on around her. She is a smart girl and a lady that needs to be appreciated and loved.

But don't let her age and gentle disposition fool you. Noelle is a spirited 14-year-old miniature poodle. She is very playful, especially loving a soft squeaky toy but she also loves a great nap in a cozy, comfortable bed. She will love going for walks with you, and you will love how she will look back at you to make sure you are having as much fun as she is. She will enjoy sitting with you, and will glance up at you frequently. Most of all, it seems she is seeking the comforting reassurance of being loved again. She only means to please. This is the love of a senior dog.

Noelle is spayed and is in good health. She is heartworm negative, has a rabies vaccine, a distemper vaccine, her x-rays were normal, blood work was normal, and she has had preventative treatment against fleas/ticks, She has a minor grade heart murmur. and weighs all of 11 pounds.

Noelle is best suited for a quiet and calm household and would be happiest as a single canine companion. She does seem to get along with cats and older children. She could be comfortable with younger children, if they treat her very gently.

This cutie would also make a wonderful companion for an older person or couple. If someone 65 years of age or older is the right companion for Noelle, the adoption fee will be reduced to $45 and, if adopted in July, she will go home with a special doggy "swag" sand pail for the Christmas in July promotion. Any dog, cat or kitten adopted in July will also go home with this special gift.

For information, call 9733-728-2859 or visit www.westmilfordanimalshelter.org with links to the shelter's facebook pages. The shelter is located on Lycosky Drive (behind recycling).
