Greenwood Lake — Owner of The Helm restaurant Mark Palmieri has added a pirate ship to the restaurant and it all started with a Facebook post.
“We were tagged in a Facebook post about a pirate ship and we both decided that we had to have it," Palmieri said. "It was a must have.”
Mark Palmieri said he and his partner drove straight through the night to Virginia after work to pick up the 55 foot ship. The owners purchased the ship for $15,000 in December. They were the first buyers to offer a bid.
This unique ship will be available for private parties and special tasting events.
Voted the best restaurant in Orange County in 2017, The Helm offers a large craft American beer selection and contemporary American Cuisine.
