Wagner fed up with paying more, getting less

West Milford faces many challenges and taxes have continued to rise, while services for residents have been continuously cut. Like many others, I am fed up with having to keep paying more and getting less.

I am tired of council members taking the stand that government takes time. I have had friends and even strangers come to me to ask for my help when they run into barriers with the township. I try to assist each as best I can, and being on the council will give me a greater means to accommodate residents.

Locals have seen me at council meetings discussing new projects with HEAT and calling out issues in town. In an effort to assist local businesses, HEAT is putting together a Shop Local program. Residents can pick up a free card at participating businesses, expected to be launched at ALF, that will give them discounts at shops throughout West Milford and the Highlands region.

Having two teenagers, I am highly concerned with the increasing drug use in our schools. I know that it takes just one night of peer pressure to turn a teen's life in the wrong direction. One of my goals is to meet with the school board and discuss what can be done to better assist our teens in making the right decisions.

Since the inception of my contract with the State of New Jersey to run Greenwood Lake Airport, I improved the infrastructure of the airport to allow for more tenants and businesses. For the past six years, I have organized the air show, pulling in top performers and utilizing more than 200 volunteers to keep the show running all weekend.

On June 2, voters will decide which Republicans they want to see in the general election. I know that I will be a strong, active member of the council. My positions can be found on the PuttingWestMilfordFirst.com website. I am attending a meet and greet on May 16 at the Passport Café to answer any additional questions you might have before you enter the voting booth.
