Adeline Rose Polito (nee Curcio) died after a short illness at Middeltown Park Manor, Middletown, N.Y., on Monday, March 19, 2012. She was 96.
Born to Luigi and Maddalena Curcio in New York City, she grew up in the Bronx and then moved to Leonia and then West Milford for nine years and Hardyston Township for two years before settling in Vernon Township 14 years ago.
Mrs. Polito was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and she enjoyed dancing, shopping and wine.
Mrs. Polito was predeceased by her husband, Angelo Tim Polito (1988), four sisters and a brother. She is survived by her children Joanna A. Stickle of Vernon Township and Philip A. Polito of Toms River; grandchildren George, Timothy, Pamela, Gregory, Angelo and Laura; great-grandchildren Tonya, Mitch, Tara, Adam, George, Timothy, Daniel, Scott, Megan, Kelly, Thomas, Dane and Saige; great-great-grandchildren Alexis and Hailey.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon, on Wednesday, March 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, March 22, at 10 a.m.
Entombment to follow at St. Raymonds Cemetery Our Lady of Hope Garden Crypts, Bronx, N.Y.
