It was 1974. I was 16 at the time and my Father was retiring after 35 years at Curtiss Wright Corp. and we were on our way to live in Florida. It was icy out and me, my Mother, Anna, my brother Robert and my Dear Old Dad, Edward at the wheel had decided to get a hotel in Virginia at a Days Inn. It was thaksgiving and we were looking for a place that served a Thanksgiving Meal. We were somewhere in the middle of Virginia along I-95 and we lost the taupe on our boat that just trailed behind us back in Baltimore and it was still icy and getting late. So we went to eat at the Tasty World Days Inn restaurant. They were out of Thanksgiving food so we had cheeseburgers instead. We may not have had a traditional Thanksgiving meal but we had each other. With both my parents deceased I miss those days. .
