Photo provided Troy and Aaron Redner enjoyed the Queen of Peace Family Festval last weekend, May 14. The rides were fun but running around in the rain was the highlight of their day.

Face painting was a hit for the kids.

Kids just want to drive.

The food was a highlight, thanks to the many volunteer cooks.

There were many types of food available, from hot dogs, sausage and peppers and pierogies.

Crowds came out when the weather cooperated. Even when it didn't, carnival goers had lots of fun.

HEWITT — The weather did not cooperate, but the wind, rain and cold didn't keep the crowds away from the Our Lady Queen of Peace Family Festival the weekend of May 13-15.
The volunteers came out in force and the public did too. Kids enjoyed the rides and games. The adults had fun playing bingo, with good crowds on both Friday and Saturday. And the White Elephant Sale was a great success.
Everyone’s taste buds were delighted with the delicious and varied choices of food. The musical entertainment was as good as it gets.
And because of all that, organizers have proclaimed the festival a success!
