WEST MILFORD — West Milford Community Services and Recreation is offering Family Frog Nights this spring.
The program involves learning about native frogs, what they look like and what they sound like too. This is followed by pond exploration to see what frogs may be found, as well as other kinds of local pond life, such as crayfish and dragonfly nymphs.
There are three Family Frog Nights left this spring: Thursdays May 21, June 11 and June 18. They are held at Westbrook Park off of Westbrook Road, in the pavilion near the pond. The fun begins at 8 p.m.
Wear boots, bring flashlights, nets and containers, if you have them.
Cost is $8 per person (ages 3 and over) or $25 per family. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. Call the Recreation Office at 973-728-2860 to pre-register.
The program runs rain or shine, except for thunderstorms. Participating families also take home a guide about the local frogs.
