Farmer Phil band brings out the country fans

As the summer months dwindle down - and it sure seems that summer goes by so quickly while winter months seem unending - folks are taking advantage of outdoor activities. Such was the case on Tuesday, July 29, at Bubbling Springs Park, when hundreds turned out to hear the talented Farmer Phil band play some great country tunes.

In chairs and on blankets set on the grassy hill sloping down toward the gazebo, country music fans and country dance enthusiasts, young and old alike, had a great night out.

The “Concerts Under the Stars” has had just one rain-out this summer and as a result the “Streets of the Bronx are now scheduled to play on Aug. 19.

On Aug. 12, the very popular Island Beach Party will feature the “Parrot Beach” band paying their tribute to Jimmy Buffet.

The “Concert Under the Stars” series runs under the direction of West Milford’s Community Services and Recreation and has become a summer staple for local residents and visitors alike.

This bit of summertime fun is made possible in part by a grant administered by the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council from funds granted by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and through the generosity of local sponsors.

For rain cancellations, re-scheduling and other information, call Community Services and Recreation at 973-728-2860.
