WARWICK — The Warwick Historical Society's great history of hospitality continues with the annual Tavern Night on Sunday, March 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the historic Iron Forge Inn.
"We are excited to begin a new Tavern Night tradition - highlighting a different historic inn or restaurant each year," said Lisa-Ann Weisbrod, the society's executive director.
The Iron Forge Inn is located in a ca. 1760 house in the once busy mill village of Bellvale, where Longhouse Creek once powered saw, grist and woolen mills and a 1700s Colonial iron forge destroyed by the British.
The Iron Forge Inn property has had many owners and in 1950 the Peck family opened it as the inn.
The Johansen family purchased the property in 1998. Chef Erik Johansen, graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, emphasizes local ingredients with the Modern American menu.
Delicious pub food will be generously served. Craft beer, wine and a signature beverage will be flowing. Music by Mike and Anne Baglione will set the tone for a great celebration.
If you goTickets are $40 for Historical Society members, $50 for non-members and at the door, if space is still available.
