Let's plant daffodils

| 06 Oct 2016 | 12:50

Come help us add hundreds of daffodils to the New Jersey State Botanical Garden at NJBG’s annual Daffodil Planting.
Volunteers will work with the garden’s expert staff on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. to add even more daffodils (narcissus) to the garden’s lush spring bulb display. Children are welcome, so bring the whole family and help create beauty for thousands of visitors to enjoy. You’ll also get great ideas and tips for spring bulbs in your own garden.
NJBG’s annual Daffodil Planting adds to the lavish displays that bloom in late April throughout the Botanical Garden, always a welcome sign of spring. These deer-resistant blooms return year after year in vibrant shades of yellow, orange, salmon and white. They make a fine, low-maintenance addition to any garden.
Bring gloves and a trowel if you have them, and wear sturdy shoes. No experience is necessary. Meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center.
NJBG holds hands-on workshops throughout the growing season, working with many different plants under expert guidance. Be sure to check next year’s calendar for workshops and walks featuring lilacs, wildflowers, and more.
