    Victor Gonzalez of Vernon graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa. with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Trevor Silbernagel of Oak Ridge graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Grace Casalino of Sussex was one of 16 students from the College of Saint Elizabeth Center for Theological and Spiritual Development to receive a lay ministry certificate in Parish Life Ministries during commencement ceremonies at an Evening Prayer Liturgy at Holy Family Chapel on the College’s campus. Casalino serves in St. Monica’s Parish in Sussex. The Center for Theological and Spiritual Development offers three distinct lay ministerial certificate programs, including Parish Life Ministries, Religious Education, and Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Highland Lakes residents Amanda Salamone and Kyle Turpin were named to the dean’s list or the spring 2011 semester at the University of New Haven in West Haven, Conn. Kevin James Flotard Jr. of Vernon graduated cum laude from Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in geography. He will be attending graduate school at Montclair State. Glenn A. Pirozzi of Ogdensburg and Raymond Frey of Lafayette earned a bachelor’s degrees in computer information systems from the University the University of Scranton’s College of Arts and Sciences. Laura Backman of of Stockholm was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Saint Michael’s College in Burlington, Vt. A group of area students were named to the dean’s list for spring 2011 semester at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. They are: Vincent Laconti and Alex Peslak of Highland Lakes and Christine Guarino of Oak Ridge. Jamie Pawlick of Oak Ridge was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa. Sarah Thiel of Lafayette was named to the dean’s list at New England College in Henniker, N.H. Four area student graduated with bachelor’s degrees from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. They are: Lafayette residents Mark McGoldrick and Kimberly Numann; and Oak Ridge residents Alison Simons and Sean Tasker. Annalena Snure of Wantage graduated from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., with a bachelor’s degree in business management and a minor in marketing. Erin Van Dokkenburg of Vernon graduated Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Anthony Michael Coppola of Vernon graduated from the University of Delaware’s department of mechanical engineering, summa cum laude, with an honors bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with distinction. Coppola was the recipient of the W. Francis Lindell award for the Outstanding Senior in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his honors degree with distinction for his research and senior thesis in self-healing composite materials. Coppola will be pursuing a doctorate at the University of Illinois Department of Aerospace Engineering where he has been awarded the Carver Fellowship. Christine Krueger of Vernon graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, special education, and a minor in disabilities education. She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta. Katie Baldwin of Wantage was one of 11 Lycoming College students to attend the recent 65 Eastern Colleges Science Convention at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. The Eastern Colleges Science Convention gives undergraduate students the opportunity to present their empirical research in a professional format. At the convention the students were able to give platform or oral presentations and poster presentations on the research they have conducted at Lycoming. Kelly Elam of Oak Ridge presented “The Process of Strategic Reorganization in Colleges and Universities,” at the recent 25 annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research held at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. She was among 3,000 students representing some 440 colleges and universities nationwide. The undergraduate researchers presented work from a broad array of subject areas, including the humanities, social sciences and many professional fields as well as the fine and performing arts. In addition to oral presentations and poster sessions, the conference included a visual arts component along with dance, drama/theater and music performances. Katlynn Martin of Vernon graduated from Delaware Valley College in Doyletown, Pa. Margaret Rohde of Highland Lakes was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Washington College in Chestertown, Md. Nicholas Gil of Oak Ridge was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. Billy McNeir of Franklin, who plays golf at Centenary College in Hackettstown, earned Scholar Athlete honors. The Scholar Athlete award is given to the male and female student-athletes with the highest grade point average. McNeir is majoring in history and education and has a 3.950 GPA and has completed his sophomore year on the Centenary College Golf Team. Nicole Lynn Piela of Vernon graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She will be attending graduate school, working toward her doctorate in physical therapy. The following local students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania: Jennifer L. Braun and Matthew T. Braun of Highland Lakes; Ashley C. Carter of Wantage; Michelle L. Fanslau of Oak Ridge; Leighann K. Hagemann of Sussex; Lauren A. Heller of Wantage; Elizabeth A. Linfante of Highland Lakes; Matthew N. Sheeran of Sussex; Brittany L. Vaszlavik of Vernon and Audrey A. Wilson of Wantage. The following local students were named to the fall 2010 dean’s list at Rowan University: Amanda Marie Ashley of Sussex; Elizabeth Ann Houde of Vernon; Mark Christopher Lisa of Highland Lakes; Nicole Danielle Morelli of Lafayette; Taylor William Purdue of Higland Lakes; Michael Russell Scott of Lafayette; Tyler Charles Staudinger of Wantage; and Eric Robert Vybihal of Sussex. Jamie Jackson of Highland Lakes was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She was also inducted into the National Honor Society Phi Eta Sigma.
