Macopin Middle School announces its citizens of the month

| 04 Feb 2014 | 05:06

— Macopin Principal Mary Reinhold and Vice Principal Marc Citro have announced the school's recent Citizens of the Month.

Citizen of the Month is a program that was started in 1999 to recognize students who go above and beyond in their daily lives. The process begins with a teacher nominating a student for this honor. After their nomination, the student is reviewed by all of his or her current teachers. A volunteer faculty committee evaluates the teachers’s comments and the student's discipline records based on the following criteria:

Shows responsibility both academically and socially

Shows caring, kindness and helpfulness towards peers and staff members

Demonstrates respect for self, peers, property, and authority

Leads by example in either actions and/or words (example: follows classroom rules)

Demonstrates perseverance
Shows honesty and integrity
