Carl 'Jack' Carlson

Carl "Jack" Carlson of Milford, Pa., died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at The James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y. He was 86.

He was born June 24, 1927 in Bogota, the son of the late Carl F. and the late Jessie Louise Stuart Carlson. Jack married Dorothy Hulme 40 years ago on April 6, 1973 in Oak Ridge. He proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines and U.S. Navy during World War II.

Jack was the owner and operator of Milford Systems in West Milford.

He was a 62-year mason and past master of both the Port Jervis Masonic Lodge No. 328 F. and A.M., Port Jervis, N.Y., and the Alexander Hamilton Lodge No. 222 F. and A.M., West Milford. He was also a member of the Genesis Lodge No. 88 F. & A.M., Pompton Lakes, and the West Milford Square Club of West Milford. From 1979 to 1980, he was a grand chaplain of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey. He was a member of the four bodies of the York Right achieving the title of Knight of the York Cross of Honor.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Carlson, at home; his five children: Carl Carlson and his wife, Cindy of Hewitt, Donald Yeomans and his wife, Marjorie of Sidney Center, N.Y., Robert Yeomans and his wife, Beatrice of Walton, N.Y., Linda Struble of Hewitt, Joyce Geisert and her husband, James of Orange, Ca.; brother, Donald Carlson of Saddlebrook; sister, Betty Lou LaMars and her husband, Robert of Murraysville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister: Judy Kendall and by his sister-in-law, Patricia Carlson.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1,3 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y. Masonic Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the funeral home with Rev. Ben Willis of the Presbyterian Church of Milford, Pa., officiating. Cremation will follow at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, Pa.
