Gunvor Caroline Naccara, of Upper Greenwood Lake in West Milford, passed away on March 25, 2012.
Mrs. Naccara was born on April 23, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Gunny and her deceased husband, Nick, who predeceased her in 1998, spent most of their lives raising their three boys, George, Steve and Rick and many pets, including dogs, cats, birds and even a duck.
Gunny was very active in the community as a member of the Red Hat Society, the Women's Club, and the Couples Club (two by two) and was affectionately known as "Colonel Clink" in organizing the annual rummage sale at the West Milford Presbyterian Church. Gunny and her family moved to West Milford from Brooklyn in 1954.
Survivors include her son George and his wife Linda, son Steve and his wife Lynda, and son, Rick and his wife Marianne; her grandchildren, Brent Naccara and wife Jana, Doug Naccara and wife Joanna, Laurie Lanier and husband, Brent, Lisa Kardos and her husband David, Matt Naccara, Erik Naccara and Allie Naccara; and hergreat-grandchildren, Brylee and Brooke, Colton, Ethan and Chace. Gunny wasalso the beloved aunt of Rosemary Titus and her husband Richard, and Michael Naccara and his wife, Christine.
Visitation was held at Richard's Funeral Home, West Milford, on Monday, March 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 27, at the West Milford Presbyterian Church, followed by internment at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
