Lawrence Alan Strother passed away on the morning of Sunday, April 23, 2020, at the age of 70.

He was born August 13, 1949 in Vineland, New Jersey. Larry, his brother George, and sister Diane were raised by their parents, George and Laura Strother, in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey.

He married his wife Joan Adrian Strother and raised their four children, Lindsay (Corter), Brandon, Brett, and Chad in Newfoundland, New Jersey.

Larry will be missed by his grandchildren, Lawson and Adrian and their father Michael Corter. He had many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law that will miss him greatly.

Growing up he played on many baseball teams and continued to play and coach softball up until last year. Larry took the skills he knew and coached all four of his children in Little League’s softball and baseball programs. Larry was truly passionate about coaching and his role as vice president, for a total of 18 years. In his 30’s he took up skiing end enjoyed going on different ski trips, especially in the Adirondacks. He skied up to a month before he passed.

He worked for Verizon for 38 years, retiring at the age of 62. At that point he started playing and enjoying golf. Most of his relaxing time was spent up in Schroon Lake, New York. There, you would find him with his family and friends making memories, boating, water skiing, golfing, hiking and exploring new areas.

Larry was a master of all trades and if he wasn’t, he was ready to learn. He was always ready to share his knowledge and wisdom with others.

Larry has been an amazing husband, father and great friend to all. His impact will never be forgotten. There will be a celebration of Larry’s life in the near future.
