    Miriam Theresa McArthur, nee McManus,died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Warwick, N.Y. She was 69.

    Born in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Eugene and Anna (Simon) McManus, she moved to Upper Greenwood Lake in West Milford after graduating from James Monroe High School, Bronx. She had been a secretary at IBM, Sterling Forest, N.Y.

    In 1991 Miriam and her husband Tom moved to Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where she became involved in her community. An active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, she was a member of the Bernadette and Bereavement teams, an usher, and served on the Parish Council. Also a member of the Piscataquis County Republican Committee, she served as chair of the committee for two years, was a representative to the State Committee and a founding member and secretary of the Central Maine Republican Women.

    Surviving are her son, David V. McArthur, and his companion Katrina Whirty, stepson Joseph McArthur of New York, and special son George S. Drossel and his wife Katie of New Jersey, brothers Frank and his wife Sheila McManus, Tom and his wife Marilyn McManus, William and his wife Barbara McManus and Vincent McManus, a sister-in-law Barbara McManus and a granddaughter, the love of her life, Julia Drossel.

    Her husband Thomas W. McArthur (2008), a son John W. Tucci, Jr., and a brother Eugene McManus predeceased her.

    Visiting will be held on Thursday, May 17, at Richards Funeral Home, West Milford from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    The funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday morning, May 18, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt. Interment will follow at Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford.
