Pasquale 'Patsy' Matarazzo

Pasquale "Patsy" Matarazzo died on Monday, July 18, 2016. He was 94.
Mr. Matarazzo was originally from Fairview but lived in Cliffside Park for his entire marriage. He also held residence in West Milford and Vista, California.
He owned and operated a successful insurance and accounting business from his home in Cliffside Park for more than 50 years. He was a Navy veteran who served during World War II. He also served as president of the Cliffside Park Lions Club.
A family statement read: "He was a generous and selfless husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Patsy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him."
Patsy is survived by his three loving and caring children, Patrick Matarazzo, Dr. Thomas Matarazzo and his wife Barbara, and Diane Handschin and her husband Michael; seven grandchildren, Ida-Marie and her husband James Mascolo, Patrick and his wife Carol Matarazzo, Dina and her husband Joseph Vitorino, Robert Matarazzo, Michael Handschin, Samantha Matarazzo, and Ryan Handschin; his two great-grandchildren P.J. and Owen Matarazzo; his sister Josephine Paulovich and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his devoted wife of nearly 70 years Mary, nee Cherubini; his parents Gaetana and Antonio Matarazzo; his sisters Mary DeOrio and Mildred Focarelli, and his brother Michael Matarazzo.
Services were held at Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, Fort Lee, with a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic church. Interment was at Madonna Cemetery.
