Richard Gros

    Richard Gros passed away at his home in Lewes, Delaware, on Dec. 24, 2016. He formerly lived in West Milford.
    Born in Passaic on Sept. 29, 1949, he was the son of the late John Gros and Augusta Veenema.
    He married Linda Frey on Feb. 26, 1972 and to this union three children were born: Richard, Jr., Christopher and Daniel Gros.
    A family statement read: "Richard was a devoted father and husband. He was very friendly and made friends quickly. Richard was a good person and helped people when he could."
    He was a United States Army veteran, a member of the Upper Greenwood Lake Ambulance Squad, Hawthorne Fire Company #3 and operations manager for Pequanock Disposal.
    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Torma and George Gros.
    Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Gros; three sons, Richard Gros, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Ridgewood; Christopher Gros and his wife, Ellen, of Ellenville, N.Y.; and Daniel Gros and his wife, Stephanie, of Vernon; one sister, Georgia Cina and her husband, Sal, of Lodi; nine grandchildren: Vincent, Jacob, Jared, Haley, Ryan, Tyler, Johnathan, Matthew and Isabella.
    A memorial service and interment will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 75 North Church Road, Sparta.
