William (Billy) A. Nisbet, formerly from Goshen, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023. He was 35 years old.
Billy was born July 29, 1988, in Ridgewood, N.J., the oldest son of William and Teresa (Starkey) Nisbet. He was a graduate of Goshen High School and Lincoln Tech in Ramsey, N.J.
He was currently employed at Healey Brothers in Goshen and was in the process of starting his own business, Hudson Valley Haulers, that his brother, Chris, is inspired to make Billy’s dream a reality.
Billy was a born comedian, an outdoorsman and a man ready to help at a moment’s notice, no questions asked. Those who had the privilege of knowing such a tremendously down-to-earth soul are left broken by his sudden departure and grasp onto the memories of a man who was quick to laugh and even quicker to joke.
His legacy of acting in selflessness will live on as one of God’s greatest accomplishments and extend into the lives of those he left behind. He was so loved. And he will be so devastatingly missed.
He is survived by his parents, William and Teresa Nisbet of Canadensis, Pa., formerly of Goshen; his brother and best friend Christopher Nisbet and his wife Amanda; his niece and nephew Paisley and Lucas of Goshen; and beloved sister Ashley Nisbet of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Jeannette Starkey of Suffern; Aunt Karen DeSanno and Michael Bruno of West Milford, N.J.; Aunt and Godmother, Sandy Gorlachov and her husband, Alex; Aunt Billie Jean Starkey of Bloomingdale, N.J.; Uncle and Godfather John Nisbet and his wife Betsy of North Carolina; Aunt Janet Nisbet of Toms River, N.J.; Aunt Carol Impellizzieri and her husband John of Roosevelt, N.J.; and Aunt Donna Collins and her husband Dave of Greenville, S.C.. He is also survived by many cousins; Todd Nisbet and Erin Mandato, Travis and Nick Impellizzeri, Brenda Nisbet; Matt and Kevin Collins; Danielle and Joe Desanno; Alexandra and Thomas Gorlachov; Daniel Barrera and Sofia Coplin of Bloomingdale, N.J..
Billy was the proud godfather of Billie Jean’s son, Daniel Barrera, who he enjoyed goofing around with.
Billy had many beloved and loyal friends, including Steve Biesheuvel, Shawn Decker, Joe Endreson, Sean Hannigan, Jonesie Jones and so many more.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather William A Starkey of Suffern, whom he was named after, and his paternal grandparents, William and Elsa Nisbet of Tuckerton, N.J.
