West Milford ‑ Members of the WM77 Cable TV Commission attended the Eastern Region Communication and Technology Conference 2016, Power of Partners, held on May 26-27 at the Hyatt in Morristown, NJ.
For the Thursday event, township council members and commission liaisons Ada Erik and Marilyn Lichtenberg attended accompanied by other members: Geoff Belinfante, Ruthann Mekita, Nate Bedford, and Bob Nicholson.
The JAG Municipal Excellence Award was given in honor to West Milford Councilwoman Ada Erik for her work in bringing WM77TV from the planning stage to its launch as an active public access channel.
Demonstrations of technical gear including lighting, top-of-the-line video cameras, green screen technology, and specialty streaming software were followed by a buffet lunch.
Each table at the luncheon had an assigned topic for discussion, such as Emergency Communications: Insuring Connectivity; Cameras: More options, more choices; and Marketing and Social Media.
Steve Traylor, Executive Director, NATOA (National Association of Telecommunications Officers), and Michael Darcy, Executive Director, NJ League of Municipalities made opening remarks.
The WM77TV Commission meets every fourth Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room at Town Hall.
