WEST MILFORD After having been rained out by a deluge, the airport activities that were originally slated to be part of the Autumn Lights Festival have been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5. The Greenwood Lake Airport Pilot’s Association will host Young Eagles Day. The Young Eagles program is for girls and boys ages 7 to 18. After a short ground school, aspiring pilots get a free plane ride. In addition, one of the Young Eagle participants will be chosen at random to win free flight instruction. Other activities will also be going on, including a motorcycle show presented by DandS Cycle (register entries by 11 a.m.), an antique airplane display, Kids I.D. Program (parents must bring child’s birth certificate and ID) and Passaic County Sheriff’s Department Explorer Program. In addition there will be Marine Vietnam Vets wartime memorobilia, Home Depot (limited supply of kids kits free), food by Cross Wind Cafe Airport Restaurant, Teterboro Airport Museum Display, Iroquois Trading Co. featuring Native American jewelry and more, face painting and removable tatoos, and the Channel 12 News chopper. A caricaturist will be on site to capture the essence of you or your loved one and Dr. Perry Ricci will be offering free spinal stress tests. Meet the West Milford candidates for town council up close and personal, and don’t miss George Carter’s unique wood crafts. The Greyhound Friends of NJ will have information about their rescue and adoption program and the Autumn Lights Festival Committee will be giving out free t-shirts to children and young adults plus goodie bags with sponsor advertising and coupons. The airport will also be hosting a limited number of vendors and civic groups who had signed up for the Autumn Lights Festival. The activities begin at 9 am and will run through 3 p.m. Rain date is Sunday, November 6.
