West Milford — A few weeks ago, the Messenger misidentified this scene from Evergreen Farm as one from a neighboring farm. We apologize. Here is a short history of Evergreen. In 1994, the Granatell Brothers of Franklin Lakes purchased Evergreen Farm. Over the years, they have transformed the land into a park-like property, while maintaining the natural landscape of northeast New Jersey. When driving by, it is evident the land is clean and manicured. In 1995, the family established Evergreen Farm Store. The store originally was a simple produce stand featuring tomatoes, corn, and pumpkins in the fall. It has grown into a nice country store that still carries produce (local produce only), preserves, fresh baked pies and breads, cedar lawn furniture, gifts and more. Seasonal specials include hay-rides, pumpkins, fall decorations and then Christmas trees with all the trimmings. Four years ago the business of Evergreen Farm expanded by adding an 18-hole miniature golf course as well as a 24-bay, lighted driving range. This addition has provided the community with a clean and safe environment for the families of West Milford to play together outdoors. The facility is also used for birthday parties, scout outings, as well as for fundraising events for charities. The Evergreen Farms store is operated by Charles and Carolyn Granatell of West Milford and the properties are managed by Arlene Remus and Michael Granatell. Evergreen Farms is located at 1750 Union Valley Road.
