Graduations slated for next week

    WEST MILFORD-On Tuesday, June 21, at 7:00 p.m, the West Milford class of 2005 will officially be done with their public education. Commencement ceremonies will be held at McCormack Field, weather permitting; inside the high school if the weather is n'r co-operating. The Valedictorian for the Class of 2005 is Maura Tappen. The Salutatorian for the Class of 2005 is Leanne Fredericks. Tickets for graduation ceremonies will be distributed to the graduating students on June 21 during their final graduation practice. Following graduation ceremonies, students who are choosing to attend Project Graduation are being asked not to leave school grounds. There will be a reception for students and their parents in the high school cafeteria immediately following commencement ceremonies. After the reception, students will board buses bound for the Crystal Springs Spa and Resort in Vernon, NJ. Students will remain at the Spa until 5:00 a.m. on the morning of June 22 and will arrive back at West Milford High School at approximately 6:00 a.m. With the Class of 2005 gone, the high school will welcome the Class of 2009, which will hold its own graduation ceremonies on Monday, June 20. Approximately 375 eighth graders will bid adeiu to the Macopin School on Monday and start high school in the fall. Macopin's graduation will be held inside the high school gym at 7 p.m. Each eighth grader received four guest tickets to the event.
