Ives new president of math association

    Dr. Deborah L. Ives was named President of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New Jersey at the annual conference of the association recently held in Somerset, NJ. After having been a classroom teacher for over eighteen years, Dr. Ives is currently the K-12 Mathematics Supervisor in West Milford, NJ. She earned her teaching certificate, M.A.T. in Mathematics Education, and Ed.D. in Pedagogy in Mathematics Education at Montclair State University. Dr. Ives received the NJ Governor’s Teaching Recognition Award in 1992, and has been nominated for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics. Active in National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Dr. Ives is the Co-Chair for the NCTM 2006 Eastern Regional Conference in Atlantic City, NJ. She provides outreach and workshops to teachers and students throughout the United States.
