WEST MILFORD — It's a highlight of spring - the West Milford Farmers' Market is now open.
Wednesday was a beautiful opening day for the vendors and shoppers at the market, which is located behind the West Milford Presbyterian Church on Union Valley Road. Temperatures were mild and the sun was shining brightly as a good opening day crowed filed through the market.
There was great music adding to the atmosphere. John Sheehan performed for the crowd, doing a mix of originals and covers.
This is the ninth year for the market, which has grown over the years. Fresh fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised meats and free-range eggs, honey, flowers, prepared foods and even homemade fudge are abundant at the market. There's something for everyone.
The market, which accepts SNAP benefits, is open each Wednesday, now through October, rain or shine, from 3 to 7 p.m.
