A vintage plane blows smoke just to show off. For those who know, the skill of the pilot is what counts, not the smoke. But you knew that.

The Greenwood Lake Air Show, held Friday through Sunday, Aug. 13-15, was the biggest show to date at Greenwood Lake Airport in West Milford, N.J.
There were afternoon and evening shows held throughout the weekend. The show opened with the National Anthem followed by the flag-jump opening ceremony and Aeroshell Aerobatic Team. A sky diver from New York Tandem Sky Diving held a giant American flag and at the same time the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team flew the planes making white smoke circles around the sky diver.
Numerous aerobatic pilots performed in their planes. Jerry McCart drove down the runway in his jet truck called “The Homewrecker.”
During Greg Koontz and the Alabama Boys act, Koontz flew a Piper J-3 Cub, doing aerobatic tricks and landing on a pickup truck that was speeding down the runway. The truck turned around and went down the runway at a high rate of speed, and the Piper Cub took off again from riding atop of the pickup truck.
At the air show there was a car show and displays such as Army Air Forces Historical Association display that showcased Army Air Force memorabilia.
There were also vendors displaying military memorabilia, a WWII military Jeep, along with military equipment and pictures. In addition, there was a USO booth where a lady dressed in a USO uniform sang different songs from the war era entertaining the public.
Among the planes that flew were P- 40 Warhawk, B-25 Mitchell, and P-51 Mustang to name a few.
