WEST MILFORD - The 7th annual Health and Wellness Fair is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, at the West Milford Recreation Center (former PAL building).
The fair will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and is sponsored by the West Milford Lions Club and the West Milford Health Department as a free service to the community.
This year the larger venue allows the fair to have more room and therefore a more diverse group of vendors.
Thus, the addition of a Community Fair allowing local organizations a venue to showcase their services to the West Milford residents.
The fair features free tests and consultations with health providers.
Attendees can learn ways toward wellness, meet first responders, eat free healthy snacks, win gift certificates to local restaurants, and reward themselves with the knowledge of good health.
A variety of services and consultations will be offered such as education on assisted devices (wheel chairs,walkers,etc.), medicine cabinet dangers, stress management, nutritional advice, visiting health care providers, and much more.
Those attending can get a REIKE massage or learn about the benefits of Yoga. Parents and new parents can have the West Milford Police Department check their children’s car seats and, if needed, install them.
Medical testing will also be available.
The Paterson Mobile Medical Unit will provide HIV testing and counseling, as well as testing for glucose, sugar level, and diabetes.
There will also be eye exams for adults and children; skin cancer-Dermascan unit; blood pressure tests and counseling.
Residents are invited to come in and learn what health, wellness, and community services are available in the township.
Attendees will all leave with new information and a bag of items given away by the various providers.
