WEST MILFORD The Macopin Middle School Make A Change Club is hosting its second annual Give a Goat Night on Thursday, May 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Macopin Middle School. It will be night full of fun and prizes, all for a good cause.
There will be a girls field hockey team playing the boys football team, with some teachers participating, a pasta-eating contest and sumo-suit wrestling matches.
All of this is to raise money to purchase goats for less fortunate villages and families in South America. Dairy goats are a tremendous gift to a poor family. They can produce several quarts of nutritious milk each day, a ton of milk in a year. The milk can be a source of income for the family and can be used to make cheese, yogurt and butter. Also, goat manure is used to fertilize gardens. Each goat costs $75.
There will be a bake sale and Give a Goat t-shirts will be for sale. Admission is $10.
Last year, the MACC raised enough money to donate 25 goats to the villagers in South America. The goal this year is to beat that number.
So come out and have some fun, all while donating to a great cause. For more information or to make a donation, e-mail krista.provost@wmtps.org.
