WEST MILFORD — There are many events from the West Milford High School Guidance Department to enter into your smart phone and put on your calendars for the month of October:
Oct. 7 — HSPA (High School Proficiency Assessment) make-up exams for current 12th grade students.
Oct. 10 — The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test will be administered in the Lower Library beginning at 7:30 a.m. Students can sign up in the Guidance Office to get test preparation materials and passes. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program provides high quality, career exploration and planning materials at no cost to high school students. The test covers eight different areas as it assesses a student’s ability to learn new skills and is a predictor of success in training and education programs. The ASVAB also offers a 90-item interest inventory that will assist students in making career path decisions.
Oct. 11 — The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) will be given at West Milford Township High School. Late registration ends on Sept. 30, 2014. Sign up information can be found at www.collegeboard.com
Oct. 15 — All 11th grade students will take the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) at West Milford Township High School. The PSAT is the qualifying test for entry to the 2016 National Merit Program. All 10th grade students will take the ACT Aspire test that is linked to ACT College Readiness Benchmarks and aligned with the Common Core State Standards.
Oct. 16 — Aspire makeup date for any 10th grade students who took the PSAT on Oct. 15.
Oct. 25, 2014: The ACT (American College Testing) test will be available for seniors to take. Late registration ends on Oct. 3, 2014. All sign up information can be found on www.actstudent.org/start.
