Journey Church sending mission group to Haiti

WEST MILFORD — A group from The Journey Church of the Highlands in West Milfordis making its second mission trip to World Harvest Missions, New Life Children’s Home in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. New Life is a rescue center and home for abandoned and helpless children, bringing hope and a future to these children for the past 35 years. The group of 12 from Journey Church will be traveling Aug. 4 to 12. Their humanitarian efforts will include building projects, children's programs, and bringing supplies and medicines to several other orphanages. This year’s group ranges in age from 16 to 60 years old, some of whom attended last year. There are some spouses and families that are part of the group.

The group has collected donations to bring with them. Additional donations are being collected on Sundays through July 27 at The Journey Church of the Highlands, 184 Marshall Hill Road, from 10a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Donations requested from New Life Children’s Home include:

Sheets (twin) Towels/wash clothes

Pillows Sandwich/snack size Ziplocks

Lawn/kitchen trash bags Powdered baby formula (for up to 12 months old)

Diapers (all sizes) Peanut butter

Jelly Light bulbs Powdered juice mix

Powdered milk Batteries (all sizes)

Hand Soap (refills or new pumps)

Deodorant
