Lenten services offered at Our Lady Queen of Peace

    HEWITT - Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish has announced its Lenten schedule and programs for this year.

    “Lent is a very holy season in which one connects with God and deepens their relationship with Him,” said Fr. Michael Rodak, administrator of the parish as he welcomed the faithful to participate.

    All are invited to Journey into Lent 2012 through daily Mass at 8 a.m., Monday through Saturday, 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and weekend Masses on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12 noon with a Polish Mass at 9 a.m.

    Confessions are available Monday evenings through March 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays 4 to 4:45 p.m.

    On Friday evenings in March: Food for the Body and Spirit with Poor Man’s Supper of soup and bread at 5:30 p.m. followed by Scripture reflection. A free will offering will be collected for the benefit of the food pantry. Also on Fridays are Stations of the Cross in English at 7 p.m. and in Polish at 7:30 p.m.

    On Saturday mornings: Food for the Mind and Soul offering Our Easter Salvation “The Gift of a Humble God.” It's a scripture series presentation with Fr. Michael Rodak on the Gospel of Mark on March 10 and 24, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

    A Busy Persons Retreat is offered the week of March 18-25. For more details, or to register for the Busy Persons Retreat, call Mary Beth at 973-728-8162 ext. 309.

    A Polish Retreat will be presented March 8-11, 7:30 PM.
