Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony will include a survivor speaker, acknowledgement of team fundraising and a roll call of survivor names. The Relay for Life brings together everyone to celebrate those who have battled cancer, support those still fighting and remember those we have lost, while raising funds for research to eliminate this threat.
Luminaria Ceremony
At the Luminaria Ceremony, participants use glow sticks in the Luminarias to protect the new track and athletic field. Everyone is asked to bring canned goods to weigh down the luminarias. Afterward the food will be donated to local food pantries.
Tricky Tray
The tricky tray will include many restaurant and salon gift certificates, Disney Hopper Passes, a $375 value dental x-ray cleaning/exam at Dr. Atlas and a kid’s bike. Tickets go on sale at 5 p.m. and the drawing will be at 7 p.m.
Closing ceremony
The closing ceremony is a time to remember the lives of those lost, and to commit to continuing the fight against this disease over the next year.
Throughout the night
Refreshments will be available and vendors will be donating a portion of their proceeds. Macopin Pizza will man the concession stand selling various items with 20 percent of sales being donated to Relay. They will accept and deliver special orders to the event. The theme this year is luau; Maui Wowi Hawaiian will offer rich Hawaiian coffees and fresh fruit smoothies for sale.
There will be lively activities including a water bucket relay, frozen t-shirt contest, limbo lap, scavenger hunt and Zumba to name a few.
Those who wish to contribute to the event, may stop by and make their donation.
