HEWITT — Dr. Melissa Hanley, V.M.D., has joined Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital on July 17.
Hanley earned her bachelor of science degree in biology from Villanova University in 2012. She began shadowing and interning in 2010 and continued to intern every summer since at multiple practices including Animal Emergency and Referral Associates in Fairfield.
She then went on to earn her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2016 and graduated as a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society. After completing her education, Hanley worked in a small animal hospital to hone her skills as a clinician and surgeon.
She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. She is also certified through the Veterinary Business Management Association Business Certificate Program.
Hanley enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has special interests in soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, internal medicine, dentistry and radiology.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Hanley enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, especially the NY Giants, hiking with her German Shepherd mix, Eli, and playing Quidditch competitively.
"We feel privileged to give our clients the opportunity to obtain valuable advice and outstanding care for our patients from Dr. Hanley," said Carol Louer of Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital.
