WEST MILFORD — A newly-minted Marine from West Milford received a hero’s welcome at his former workplace, as he readies for infantry training in North Carolina.
Noah Munier, 19, who spent two years as a dishwasher at The Chelsea at Bald Eagle senior living residence, completed boot camp at Parris Island on April 3 and paid a visit to some of the senior veterans who wished him well when he left early this year. The Chelsea is home to a number of veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Noah came in his dress uniform to the oohs and aahs of the vets, residents and staff alike. He was treated to a farewell luncheon by the veterans when he departed in January. They also created a booklet recalling their basic training experiences to encourage him. He returns this week to complete infantry training at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.
