This year the Senior Olympians Team from West Milford participated in the Senior Olympics on June 5 in Pequannock Township.
The West Milford Seniors took first place with Sparta in second, Wayne in third, Pequannock in fourth, Randolph in fifth, and Rutherford in sixth place.
This is the fifth year in a row in which they came in first place.
The seniors took part in Corn Hole, Chicken Toss, Soccer kick, Putting Golf, Ladder Gold, and Tee Ball, doing exceptionally well.
For the Corn Hole activity, Cecile and John Picioccio won the gold medal.
In the Chicken Toss for the men, Fred Schwiesswohl took silver and Hank Runo took the bronze. In Ladder golf, Hank Runo won the bronze.
The team swept the medals in Soccer Kick, with Bill Novak winning the bronze, Pat Sarnella, the Silver, and Jack DeLaat winning the gold.
This year’s recipient for the Spirit Award was John Picioccio, who has shown his dedication to the team for over 15 years and is still going strong.
