The Turkey Vulture is a common site in this area. It's a scavenger and finds its food using its keen eyes and sense of smell. It has long, broad wings, bigger than other raptors except eagles and condors. Turkey Vultures flap their wings infrequently and hold their wings slightly raised, making a "V" shape. They are quiet birds, making grunt sounds or hisses. They nest in hollow trees, caves or thickets.
