Be sure to go to westmilfordmessenger.com and read our bonus five with Cristina.

1. How did you get involved with soccer?

I’ve been playing soccer for as long as I can remember, I started with recreational and travel, but it slowly became a bigger part of my life. Now, I play for the varsity soccer team and a club team.

2. Who is your biggest inspiration?

My brother, Anthony, is my biggest inspiration. He has always been my best friend and someone I could look up to. He is a great role model and I don’t know where I would be without him!

3. What would most people be surprised to know about soccer?

The amount of time we spend practicing before and during the season. We start practices early summer and because we spend so much time together our team becomes more like a family.

4. Who is your favorite teacher of all time? Why?

My favorite teacher of all time would have to be my math teacher this year, Mrs. Nitkinas. Math has always been my favorite subject, and Mrs. Nitkinas is a great teacher and makes the class enjoyable.

5. Share something no one knows about you.

Something no one knows about me is that one day I plan on owning hundreds of dogs to make up for my childhood without one.

You might want to consider volunteering at a shelter to get your dog fix. At least for the numbers you speak of! Enjoy soccer and math and the rest of your school year.

Do you know someone who should be featured here at Take Five? Let us know. Email us their name and contact information and tell us why they are deserving. Send the information to njoffice@strausnews.com. We want to feature all of the terrific kids in the township.

Bonus five
6. Name three things you would bring with you if you were on a deserted island?

I would bring a boat, my cellphone, and a friend because I would be too scared to be on a deserted island alone!

7. Share a favorite moment with your team.

One of my favorite moments with our team would have to be our home, night game against Lakeland this past season. It was a very competitive game and it was awesome to have so many people and the Herd come to support us.

8. What does being a Highlander mean to you?

To me being a Highlander means understanding the importance of setting goals and trying your best to achieve them.

9. What do you do with your time, when you are not playing soccer?

When I am not playing soccer, I’m usually playing lacrosse, snowboarding, studying, or hanging out with friends.

10. What is your favorite movie, book or character? Why?

I can’t pick a favorite, but I do enjoy sad books or movies. I really believe everyone needs a good cry now and then.
