WEST MILFORD ‑‑ A group of West Milford High School students who travel together and make themselves visible at sports and other events are recognized as “The Herd.”
A social group filled with team spirit they also constantly show pride and loyalty for their school and fellow students. They work at spreading their enthusiasm to others and more often than not succeed in doing just that.
Those who know them include resident Drew Murray, an attorney by profession and the father of one of “The Herd” leaders.
“They are all great students,” Murray told The Messenger. “They work toward involving students of all ages and bringing the spirit into the halls of West Milford High School. The group is unofficial. It does not have any coaches, advisors or parents involved.”
“The Herd” student-run organization has been attending all types of Highlander sporting events and other school run activities since the beginning of the current school year. Their stated goal is to spread Highlander Pride.
'Herd' leaders are Siobhan Murray, Jack Godomski, Ryan Pych, Tara Maupai, Anthony Hopler and Tess Oslewski.
