Time to fall back
Daylight Savings Time will end on Sunday morning, Nov. 3 at 2 a.m. In the United States, all but Hawaii and Arizona participate in changing the clock. The US government standardized Daylight Savings Time in 1918, but has never required states to participate. In 1973 and 74, the government extended the number of days because of the oil shortage due to an embargo. In 2007, energy concerns once again affected the length of Daylight Savings Time, extending it by a full month.
