WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Board of Education held its annual re-organization meeting on Tuesday Jan. 7, at which three board of education trustees were sworn in. David Richards and Donna Richards took the oath for a second term. Debbie O'Brien is new to the board. All three ran unopposed for the three-year terms.
Newcomer O’Brien takes the place of former board Trustee Jim Foody, who decided not to run for re-election to the school board. He ran unsuccessfully for town council.
The first order of business for the new school board was to elect a board president and vice president. Trustees David Richards and Wayne Gottlieb, respectively, were re-elected to the positions unanimously by the board.
Each of the newly elected trustees took their turn to speak, thanking voters for their support and the opportunity to serve on the board of education. They said they would be of service and work together in the best interest of the students, staff and community by promoting safe schools, continuing to provide quality education for the students, and fiscal responsibility.
