RINGWOOD — Tradition is an important part of the Thanksgiving holiday. At Ringwood Christian School, Thanksgiving brings the entire K through 8 school family together for their own day of giving thanks. Every year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, students dress up as Pilgrims or Indians and gather around long tables to enjoy turkey dinner, complete with all the trimmings, served by the PTF.
The day begins with a special chapel service of praise and thanksgiving. Through songs, special presentations, and Bible readings, the students are reminded not only to be thankful, but that it is God whom they should thank for all the blessings in their lives. After the chapel service, students gather for the feast.
Part of this Thanksgiving tradition at Ringwood Christian School is a visit from the school’s administrator, Dr. Donna Furrey, who dresses up as a turkey. The students always enjoy seeing their principal joining in the fun.
