Veterinary oncologist to speak Jan. 25 in West Milford

Renee Alsarraf, an author and veterinary oncologist, will be the first speaker in a free lecture series hosted by the Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital.
The lectures will be at the West Milford Township Library starting in January.
Alsarraf, author of “Sit, Stay, Heal: What Dogs Can Teach Us About Living Well,” will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25. She will sign books for people who bring them.
For more than two decades, Alsarraf treated cancer in her canine patients. Then, at age 51, she was diagnosed with cancer.
Her book is a testament to the extraordinary healing nature of dogs.
