Seed Solution, a New Jersey based non-profit company specializing in helping people grow nutritious garden vegetables, is opening its containers to make free seeds available for local pick-up.
In past years, these seeds have been available to the public at the West Milford Town Library. However, due to the corona virus pandemic, the library is now closed, and many seed companies have told their customers to expect serious shipping delays or even that they are out of stock.
Seed Solution has a large variety of certified organic seeds including tomatoes, lettuces, carrots, spinach, kale, chard, squashes, basil, chives, cucumbers, peas, radishes, peppers, and beans There are a few flower seeds available as well.
To request seeds, email your vegetable and/or herb requests by email to Jo@seedslution.org. You can also mail your seed list to Rebecca Byrne, Seed Solution, 1335 Macopin Road, West Milford, NJ 07480. Include a telephone contact number. You will be called when your seeds are ready for pick-up. They will be placed in a basket at one of two locations on Macopin Road.
Seed Solutions is a not-for-profit organization, and donations are very much appreciated. More than 3,000 people around the world eat from their seeds. The group also asks you to grow one vegetable overripe for making your own seed stock or donating seed stock back to Seed Solution in the fall.
