WEST MILFORD – A Massachusetts consulting firm will audit the West Milford Township government departments' efficiency, the township leaders decided this week.
Matrix Consulting Group of Worcester, Mass., was awarded the contract by the West Milford Council for a total cost not to exceed $65,000.
At the beginning of the year, Council President Tim Wagner asked that the town undertake a “cost efficiency audit” for all township departments. The other council members liked the idea and authorized the process. Wagner said the cost savings will outweigh the price of the audit and initiate a new approach to operations within the township.
There were four professional firms that responded on Jan. 26 to the council’s requests for proposals for a cost efficiency audit of township departments and services.
After study of the submitted proposals, the mayor and council recommended award of the contract to the Matrix Consulting Group.
The company provides information to help customers streamline and improve services. Their work includes conducting operational and organizational reviews.
According to website information, a goal of the consulting firm is to provide solutions to client’s management staffing and also to address operational concerns.
A website said the firm uses an approach that recognizes uniqueness of client’s problems while bringing to these problems the experiences gained from other jurisdictions.
It said the main mission is to provide detailed objective and practical solutions which clients implement without further study.
