The gentleman on the mighty iron yellow steed is Rich Rodek, one of the Troop 159 assistant scoutmasters. His son Zach is one of the scouts who earned horsemanship merit badges.
On Saturday, Jan. 16, 11 scouts of Troop 159 earned their horsemanship merit badges.
The scouts met via a Zoom meeting to review the requirements and discuss each point in a group setting.
The scouts then met at Echo Lake Stables on Saturday morning in West Milford to hone their riding skills.
Finding fun, even during a pandemic, is a challenge the scouts of Troop 159 are up for.
While always following the CDC guidelines on social distancing, the scouts continue to find ways to gather outside, learn, commiserate and have fun.
